Jericho Community Association AGM

The City Council has triggered the compulsory purchase order (CPO) process for the long‑neglected Jericho Wharf site where we need to build a new community centre. At the AGM, Trustees of the Jericho Wharf Trust — the group that has driven the CPO campaign — will set out the actions needed to deliver a community‑led vision for this vital piece of Jericho’s future.

We will also report on the activities in 2025 and elect the officers and committee for the year ahead. Each year, three committee members step down, though can be re-elected.

May 30th - Open House at Medley Sailing Club on Port Meadow, 12-4pm

Join them for tea, cakes and boat rides (weather permitting), Bossum's yard

Founded in 1937, this family-friendly club sails and races dinghies on the river from Medley footbridge up towards Godstow lock and the Trout Inn. They have the largest collection of Heritage British Moths as well as several 'club' boats to hire out at a very low cost. As well as Sunday afternoon and Wednesday summer evening racing, the Club has an active social calendar with an annual end-of-season dinner, the "Autumn Candle" sailing race in the dark with fairy lights, a May Morning fun race and breakfast, and the Paper Boat Race which marks the start of the Medley Summer Regatta. Need to place a small ad?

The Grog Shop is offering local businesses a new opportunity...

They have recently agreed to host a display of cards advertising local businesses in return for a small fee. You would need to pay this directly to the owners and the current charge is £1 per week. This charge is at the discretion of the shop and if you would like to find out more, please enquire next time you are in.

More roadworks...

In addition to those on Walton Street, the next few weeks sees the start of more roadworks. This time it is the Woodstock Road. From 23rd May to 5th June there may well be delays at the St Giles end of the road.
