Oxford Civic Society are hosting a meeting to discuss the proposals for the reorganisation of local government with a panel of expert speakers. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about the proposed changes and their likely impact on our community.
Under the plans, six councils will become one, two or three.

Saturday 1 November 2025, 10am to 1.15pm
Andrew Wiles Building
Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road OX2 6HD
Speakers include Cllr Liz Leffman (leader, Oxfordshire County Council), Cllr Susan Brown (leader, Oxford City Council), and a representative (TBC) from South Oxfordshire District Council.
Prof Danny Dorling (Professor of Human Geography, University of Oxford) will open the event, challenging all three on what reorganisation can and should deliver.
There will be interactive discussions and Q&A sessions where you can share your thoughts and ask questions. And there will be opportunities to network with local officials, community members and professionals in the field.
In addition to hearing explanations of the three proposals from County, City and District Council leaders and discussing the key issues for local government reorganisation and devolution, we will be talking about housing, infrastructure, social services, climate change, nature and inclusivity in the county.
Admission is free, but please register here in advance.
A local Oxford resident has put together a detailed guide that may help. See the document on our website for details.
The residents of Kingston Road have compiled a list which we have loaded to our website. Many thanks to them for all their hard work.
A reminder that we are holding our AGM on Tuesday 4th November from 7pm at D'Overbroeck's School, Leckford Road. All welcome!
with best wishes
