Refuse Collection during current hot weather

Due to the extreme heat forecast this week, the refuse collection company are making temporary changes to our waste collection service to help protect the health and wellbeing of their crews while maintaining essential services.

They apologise for any disruption these temporary changes may cause and appreciate residents’ understanding and patience.

The revised arrangements are as follows:

• Collection crews will begin work earlier than usual, with a 04:45 start timeand bin collections commencing from 05:00, which is one hour earlier than normal. We are asking residents to place their bins and bulky waste collections out the evening before their collection is due.

• Garden waste collections will be delayed

• Garden waste collections due on Tuesday 23rd or Wednesday 24thwill instead be collected on Saturday 27th.

• Garden waste collections due on Thursday 25th or Friday 26^th will instead be collected on Monday 29th.

Suspending garden waste collections temporarily will allow us to reinforce the other three waste streams, as we expect collection rounds to take longer during the hot weather.
