NEWS ITEM

Meeting on Traffic Filters

Monday March 25th
at 6pm
at D’Overbroecks Hall, Leckford Road.

Jointly hosted by Walton Manor Residents Association and
Oxfordshire Liveable Streets

Whether we like it or not, the traffic filters are coming, scheduled now for November 2024. Do we fully understand how they will work, especially how they will affect people in the Walton Manor area? This meeting, jointly hosted by WMRA and Oxfordshire Liveable Streets (OLS), will enjoy a practical, jargon-free explanation of the filters and their impacts from Zuhura Plummer of OLS. She will focus on what their purpose is, how they'll work locally, what kind of journey adjustments you might have to make, and how to apply for free passes and exemptions. Hopefully, she will be able to allay some of our fears.

The meeting will also hear from Carey Newson of Low Carbon Oxford North about the Oxford Car Free Challenge, a research project they are running in which a group of normally car-dependent residents of North Oxford to go car-free for three weeks. The idea is to help understand the difficulties and identify possible support.

If you wish to reserve a seat, book here. Otherwise just turn up on the night.
